Mary Ellen Welch Greenway Feature Areas

Please note the section between Marginal Street-Porter Street will be closed for construction Fall 2025 — Year End 2026.

Close to Maverick T & Ferry, features include the Blue Caboose and Memorial Garden.

This historic railroad car is being converted into an ice cream stand. Be sure to check it out during your visit. For many decades this site served as a busy railroad corridor that was important in the history and development of commerce in East Boston. The Blue Caboose is a relic left over from these days, donated by Conrail. Opening Spring 2025!
